kbates Birth Story

Hi everyone, I know that I don't post very often but I just wanted to drop in and say I had my little boy, Caden Riley, on Saturday morning missing leap day by 48 minutes which I am greatful for.  He weighed in at 6 pounds 8 ounces and 20 inches long, so he is basically a stick, tall and skinny like papa.  Labor went really well seeing as I didn't actually feel contractions until they were a minute a part and by that time I was pretty much done and ready to push.  I guess, I had been in labor all day on friday and didn't really notice anything except that I couldn't get comfortable so I went in to the doc for some mild cramps and come to find out my membranes had ruptured and I was indeed in labor.  So they started me on pitocin to get things rolling.  My water finally broke completly about 10:30pm and I got my epidural by 11:30pm and baby was born at 12:48am. So all in all it was pretty short.  We were release just 12 hours after delivery. So now we are home recovering.  He is actually a pretty good baby just eats and poops and sleeps.
